as per mine he didn't gave viruses the place in his classification system and the another point is that kingdom protista included both photosynthetic and non-photosynthetic organisms as well as those with and without cell wall.

The major snag of Whittaker's scheme was-

1. Each group has so many diversities that it is very difficult to keep them together.

2. Archaebacteria differ from other bacteria in structure, composition and physiology.

3. Viruses have not been included in this system of classification.

4. In case of algae a distinction between unicellular and multicellular organisms are not possible.

5. Mycoplasmas are quite different from bacteria where they have been placed with other prokaryotes.
