1)Hitler knew the the power of mass spectacle, and the Nazis staged massive rallies which were composed of various Nazi rituals: the Nazi salute, the ritualised rounds of applaud, the column arrangements etc.

2) Hitler was an excellent orator. He promised to the Germans the unravelling of the injustices done at Versailles, to give employment to the unemployed and to secure a future for the youth. His speeches made him a Messiah to a troubled, post-war nation who's people were insecure and who's dignity had been shattered. Moreover, he gave the Germans someone to blame: the Communists, the Jews, and the non-Aryans.

3) Hitler's ideology unified the German people. His claims, though pseudoscientific, brought about a wave of German nationalism and pride which empowered the people.

4) Lastly, Hitler banished all his political enemies, either by shutting them in prison or by sending them off to concentration camps. There was no opposition to him.
