what was the Mongol invasion in the Delhi sultanate
Answers
Mongol attacks on the Delhi Sultanate increased during the reign of Alauddin Khaiji and in the early years of Muhammad Tughluq's rule. Hence, a vast standing army was established under these two rulers to confront Mongol invasions. Alauddin constructed a new garrison town named Siri for his soldiers.
Hii dear here is your answer.
The Delhi sultanate mobilised a large standing army in Delhi. It posed a big challenge.
• Alauddin Khalji constructed a new garrison town at Siri for his soldiers. He imposed taxes on land to feed the army at the rate of 50% of the peasants yeild. He began to pay the soldiers in cash.
• Muhammad Tughluq shifted people of Delhi to Daulatabad in South and thus converted Delhi into a garrison town. He also disbanded the army. He paid the soldiers in cash.
Hope it helps
