Before the French revolution, the France was in Economic crisis. Because, the king of France, Louis XVI helped America for its independence from Great Britain. This made him to spend huge amount. Eventually, this led to the Economical downfall in the country.

To uplift the Economy, Louis XVI divided France into three estates. The estates are:

Clergy : Church and it's officials.

Nobility: King and his relatives.

Third estate: Remaining people like peasants, workers, businessmen, lawyers etc.

The first two estates enjoyed the privilege of not paying the tax. As, the French government collected the taxes lime thithes and tailes. Only the third estate was made to pay the taxes.

This led to the French Revolution which changed the fortune of France.
