what was the nature of the revolt of 1857

in the revolt of 1857 the people have burnt many police stations,post stations,castles etc,,bcoz the british ary introduced a bullet which contains pig and cow fat.there were many hindus,and muslims in the british army.muslims dont like pigs and cows are sacred to hindus.and also these should tear that bullet by keeping in mouth by teeth so this was very insuting so they came up with the revolt of 1857,

in the revolt of 1857, people became vigorous nd they burnt many police stations...... this is bcoz of the introdution of bullets covered wid pig fats. Many people in various castes came infront against this. Bullets are to tear up wid their mouth, which was strictly difficult for the muslims, Hindus etc.. this was the reason for this revolt
