Every morning, after Mr.Purcell opened his shop, it was his custom to perch on the proprietors high stool behind the counter and unfold the morning paper, digesting the daily news. As he read, a mixture of emotions would cross his face; like a grave nod of agreement, to frowning in frustration. He read everything in it, with his emotions shown.
