Since the University of Illinois was unhappy with the company's use of the Mosaic name, the company changed its name to Netscape Communications (thought up by Product Manager Greg Sands) and named its flagship web browser Netscape Navigator.

Mosaic navigator was the original name of the Netscape navigator. Mosaic was a corporation of the communication that opened in 1994, and developed in the University of Illinois. The university did not approve the name of the corporation that’s why its name changed from the Mosaic to Netscape navigator.
