The other plan that Halku tried was to pass the cold January night in the field without a blanket. He thought that he would not be able to sleep because of the cold and would be able to keep a watch on the crop. Unfortunately, even when he heard the wild animals attacking the field, he could not bring himself to encounter them. When there was a cold wind, he wrapped himself up in a shawl and dozed off resulting in the wild animals destroying the field and crops.
