Valli was ‘very happy’ to have got into the bus. She saw outside through the ‘window’. She could see the palm trees, the canal, grassland, distant mountains and the blue sky. Valli saw the beautiful rural landscape outside.

EXPLANATION:

In the short story ‘Madam rides the Bus’, the little girl Villiamai is fascinated by the bus that rides past her house. One day she gathers courage and money and slips into the bus just to witness its journey. As she gazes out of the window she is mesmerised by the panoramic view.

Valli sees the beautiful rural landscape. She watches with wander the canal flowing swiftly, the palm trees waving past, the lush green fields, the cattle grazing, the distant mountains and the wide blue sky. All appears to her like a fairy tale dream. The pastoral landscape captivates her child’s imagination with its scenic glory.
