Zamindari was made a hereditary rights of the zamindar known as Permanent Settlement. And it affect the peasants by forcing by the zamindar to pay the revenue. The British was not fixed the revenue and the zamindar earn monopoly revenue from the peasants. British was fixed one rate, that from the total collected revenue they should take 89% of the total collected revenue to the British government, and zamindar were take 11% of the total collected revenue. It was also fixed that if the village or city will affected by any disaster then they will not do anything for the effected people and at that time at any how the have to pay the revenue. Therefore the peasants were suffer from the very hugs problem. etc.

In long term settlement benefited the landlords more than the government. By increasing the area under cultivation, the land revenue collected from the peasants went up while the amount that they had to pay the state remained fixed.
