The Open Door policy was a declaration of policies launched in 1899 and 1900 by the United States. The main purpose of this policy was that it called for assurance of equal rights for all countries and for the assistance of Chinese regional and governmental integrity. In other words, to hold China open for trading with all other countries on an equivalent basis was the main objective of this policy.
