Explanation:

Rajgopalachari or Rajaji formula was brought with the aim of resolving the differences between the two states and the different views of the Muslim League and the Indian National Congress regarding the independence of India from the British. C. Rajagopalachari, who was an important leader of the Congress, prepared a formula to remove the political stalemate between the Muslim League and the Congress.

Rajagopalachari formulas are given below,

  • Support the demand for independence of the Muslim League Congress
  • League Congress to provide support to the formation of a temporary government at the Center
  • After the end of the war, a commission will be constituted which will identify the districts where Muslims have a clear majority and in these areas (including non-Muslims) to know whether they want to form a separate Sovereign State Elections will be done on the basis of adult franchise.
  • All parties will be allowed to express their opinions and their views regarding the pre-election or post-polling.
  • If the proposal of division is approved, then a joint agreement will be made about topics such as defense, commerce and communication.
  • All the above given conditions will be applicable only when England transfers the entire power to India.
