Many peasants began to resist, often arming themselves against the activists sent from the towns. As a form of protest, many peasants even used to slaughter animals for food than giving them to collectivised farms which caused the damage and exploitation of livestock. They used to work for only themselves to only supple themselves and were militant towards others.
