The reason behind lenchos belief was that , he was unbreakable faith in god and he was sure that god will help him and send him money, so he wrote a letter to god asking for money .
he got the money but there was only 70 pesos(the word used for money) whereas he had asked for 100 pesos , so he again wrote a letter to god and told him to send money directly to him bcz he thought that the post officers are "bunch of croocks" .
