WHAT WAS THE REASON BEHIND TAKING RIGHT THUMB OF EKLAVYA BY DRONACHARAYA ?

Dronacharya had said Arjuna that he would be the best warrior but when he saw that eklavya was more better than Arjuna in order to keep up with his promise he asked for his thumb so that he could not do his training so it would be an obstacle for him that would stop him from becoming the best warrior.... Eklavya respected Dronacharaya very much.he used to see his teachings slily(hiddenly).when Dronacharaya saw how talented Eklavya was Dronacharaya wanted Arjun to be the best archer so in fees of his teachings he asked for his thumb
