Russia's withdrawal from the war was mainly due to two reasons :

● The Russian military experienced negative outcomes from the very beginning of the war. Being outgunned and outcasted by the German adversaries, the Russian military was unprepared for the war. the major military reversals that Russia experienced in the field led to withdrawal of Russia from World War I.

● The political change and the interna upheaval from the Bolshevik Revolution of October, 1917 was another reason for Russia's withdrawal from the war. Due to Lenin's promise, Russia moved towards a peace settlement with Germany which was formalized with the treaty of Brest-Litovsk.
