Heya!

I am answering this according to Jainism version of Krishna's story. Please note Jainism do acknowledge that Shri Krishna existed but don't believe him as God or any incarnation of God.

Krishna married Rukmani because Krishna's first wife Satyabhama, who was his favorite, once mistakenly ignored Narada. Narada felt that she is arrogant and didn't treat him well as a guest. Hence, he decided that he will make sure she will no longer be Krishna's favorite wife. He deliberately showed beautiful paintings of Rukmani to Krishna, appreciated her beauty and described about her in a way that Krishna got attracted to her. He got ready to meet her and marry her. On the other hand, Narada also went to Rukmani and mentioned about Krishna to her. Rukmani was impressed hearing about Krishna but she told Narada that she is already engaged to other guy. Krishna came to her and kidnapped her with her mutual agreement. When Rukmani's brother and father learned about it, they came behind Krishna and along with their army and war happened between them but Krishna won the war and married Rukmani. She was as beautiful as apsara (heavenly female diety). She became favorite wife of Krishna and Satyabhama was very jealous because of it.

Duryodhana once offered Krishna that he would like to join relation with his family so if he has daughter or son in future, Krishna can marry his future son or daughter to his. Krishna agreed. He and Rukmani gave birth to a son named Pradyumna who was Kamdevs as per Jainism. Kamdevs are very handsome men. Their beauty is virtuous. They become Jain monk and attain salvation in same birth. Unfortunately, someone kidnapped Pradyumna right after he was born. He left him in jungle where other king and queen saw him and decided to raise him. Hence, it was decided that the other son born to Satyabhama will marry Duryodhana's daughter. But when Pradyumna turned 16, he returned to Krishna and he married Duryodhana's daughter. Later in his life, he renounced the world and attained salvation. Before he returned to Krishna, he went through lots of struggle with his 100 step elder brothers who were sons of his foster parents and who tried to kill him but they failed everytime and Pradyumna learned many vidhyas because of his strength, will power, and intelligence.
