What was the reason of non cooperation movement ? Why the Gandhi ji apply in our country ?

on August 1,1920 gandhiji gave a call for all India non-cooperation movement in India to redress the wrongs done in Punjab and turkey. He applied it in India because he never gone on the basis of any religion,caste etc.
