What was the reason that the mughal emperor ecounraged the arrival of the european trading companies

It actually gave them money.The European companies used to set up their factories and give huge taxes to Mughal emperors and on the other side for them in their peak time these European companies was not a great threat .It was the Marathas and other regional powers. They didn't know that the European companies they are taking for granted will become one of the largest empires
