Gandhi’s book on vegetarianism gives clarity about his inner spirit and honesty towards life.

EXPLANATION:

Gandhi was born in a Vaishnava family who do not eat meat or egg. From childhood, he never ate meat. One day when his school friend asked him to eat meat to become strong, he tried once but could not eat because he thought he will not be truthful to his mother.

When he grew up, he thought that milk is also non-vegetarian and took an oath not to eat meat, egg and other dairy products. He said people can drink only mother’s milk. When we went to England, he lived firmly by eating bread every day without eating meat and dairy products.

When we become sick, doctors advised him to take goat’s milk. At that time, he said ‘You can give me an injection to cure my illness. I have a vow against milk'. 'I would rather die instead of taking milk’. The reason is that Gandhi could not eat anything by harming animals and he maintained his purity and non-violence.
