Komaram Bheem (22 October 1901 – 27 October 1940) was an Indian Gond tribal leader who fought against the Nizam's of Hyderabad and Asaf Jahi dynasty for the liberation of Hyderabad.[1] He gave slogan "Jal, Jungle, Jameen" (Water,Forest,Land).

Born22 October 1901

Sankepalli, Hyderabad State, British India (present-day Telangana, India)

Died27 October 1940 (aged 39)

Jodeghat, Hyderabad State, British India (present-day Telangana, India)

Komaram Bheem fought against the feudal landlords during the Nizam's rule in a guerrilla campaign in Jodheghat forest area of Telangana. He defied courts, laws, and any other form of Nizam authority, for living off the sustenance of the forest but that was not enough. Finally he decided to take up arms against Nizam's soldiers and continued guerrilla campaign against Nizam's of Hyderabad in 1928 to 1940. He fought until his last breath. He wanted a separate Gondwana state of Gondi people. Nizam send 300 army of soldiers to capture Komaram bheem, but every time bheem fights with bravery and win the battle in the forest. Komaram bheem has deep knowledge of forest area that's why Nizam of Hyderabad did not capture the bheem although by applying full military power to capture to him. Komaram Bheem make planning is very perfect in forest area in case of battele with Nizam soldiers, that's why bheem gave tough fight with minimum army of people to Nizam's soldiers and defeated them. Komaram bheem went to chanda( present Chandrapur, Maharastra) after killing Nizam's pattadar Siddique in Sardhapur village of Telengana. After returning from Gond Kingdom chanda (present Chandrapur, Maharashtra) to Telengana,he heard about Alluri sitaramaraju who fight against British raj in Andra Pradesh for rights of tribal peoples in jungle. Komaram bheem learnt English, Hindi and Urdu in chanda(present Chandrapur). He inspired from Alluri Sitaramaraju and decided to make small army of tribal peoples to fight against Nizam's of Hyderabad.
