The rule of East India Company came to end immediately after the end of 1st war of Independence or 1857 Revolt. Now India came directly under the British crown.
The 1st war of independence had shook the foundation of British rule in India. The British do not want to take any risk further, that is why they ended the Company rule and brought India directly under the British Crown.
