Bhagat Singh had fought for Indian freedom and independence as a revolutionary. through violent means, as opposed to Gandhi. He was involved in killing of a  police officer. He threw bombs inside the central legislative assembly in protest of the acts and ordinances being passed and enforced, against Indian citizen's interests.
He was tried and hanged later.
