Jacobins belong to the lower classes of the 3rd Estate. Their leader was Maximilian Robespeirre. In 1792 Jacobins and some Parisians went to the the Palace of Tuileries and captured the royal family and kept them as hostage for many days. Then the National Assembly was elected again and named as Convection. Robespeirre was elected as the new ruler of France in 1793. He suspected people around him that they were betraying him. He guillotined many people. 1793-1794 was know as Reign of Terror
