After 3 years of the incident he started campaign against Sati. He stopped the most dangerous practice of Sati . He made people realize how important women important in the society by powerful speech . He wrote many books and said that it was not written in any holy book about killing a woman . He pointed out the evilness embedded in practice and appealed to people to give up.
