The most important of Raja Ram Mohan Roy is the banishment of 'sati pratha'(A social tradition in which women used to sit on fire after the death of their husbands).

Raja Ram Mohan Roy always the against of sati pratha and he raised voice many times But every time he gets failure.In the last, his hard work paid off and in 1829 the bill passed and lord william Bentick stopped it.
