ROLE OF WOMEN IN FRENCH REVOLUTION:

Most women didn't have access to education or job training.They worked as seamstress or laundries,sold flowers and fruits and vegetables at the market or were employed as domestic servants in the house of prosperous people. There wages were lower than those of men.

#From the very beginning women are active participants in the event of revolution. J hope that their involvement in Revolution would provide equality and basic right as men but women were not provided basic rights in the new constitution.

#In order to discuss and voice their interest women started their own political club and newspaper about 60 women's club came up in different French cities. The society of Revolutionary and pearl Republican women was the most famous of them."the main demand were equal political rights Right to vote right to be elected to the assembly and to hold political office".

#The Revolutionary government introduced a law that help to improve the lives of women, education was made compulsory for all the girls. Their father code no longer force them into marriage against their will.Marriage was made into a contract entered into freely and registered under civil law. Divorce was made legal and could be appealed for both men and women.

#During the reign of terror the new government issued loss ordering closer of women's club and bending their political.Many prominent women were arrested and a number of them executed.It was finally in 1946 that woman won the right to vote.
