Through their huge participation in the freedom struggle under the guidance of Mahatma Gandhi women not only played an important role in all hismovements (the Non-cooperation Movement 1922, the Civil Disobedience Movement 1931 and the Quit India Movement of 1942) but they also kept up their struggle for women.
