Answer:

The prose piece 'Strong Roots' devotes much space for Abdul Kalam's father. Abdul Kalam was really a great admirer of his father. In this piece he shows how active, energetic and spiritually devoted his father was. Abdul Kalam's father was very much active and spirited. He used to start his day at 4 a.m. by reading the namaz before dawn. After reading the namaz, he used to walk down to a small coconut grove they owned, about four miles away from their home. He would return with about a dozen coconut tied together thrown over his shoulder. And only then he used to take his breakfast. He would go to the mosque for the evening prayer every day. This reminded his daily routine even when he was in his late sixties.
