When this movement started,the British gave a very brutal repression which followed the imposing of the MARTIAL LAW.. now General Dyer took command and in 13 April,the Jallianwala Bagh massacre took place which was the answer to the satyagraha... This massacre's aim was to create a fear in the minds of Satyagrahis and halt the satyagraha movement ..
