Rowlatt Act (1919) was the act passed by the Imperial Legislative Council. It gave the government enormous powers to restrict any political activity. Also it gave the government power to make hold politicians and revolutionaries into detention without trial for two years. Also by this act government had the power of Censorships on newspapers, magazines, etc.
