A salt law is a well-known law which was actually published by the government of the British nation.

In the law, all the Indians are now permitted to use the salt freely. In fact, they use salt freely before this kind of rule published by the British government.

This law was actually broken by Mahatma Gandhi by Dandi march.

The British government passed the Salt Act in 1882. This act prohibited Indians from marketing salt. Indian citizens under this act were forced to purchase the vital mineral from British traders (who in addition to exercise a monopoly over the production and sale of salt charged a heavy tax on salt). Therefore, to provide the citizens of India with the basic need of salt, M.K Gandhi launched a Dandi March (as an act of civil disobedience) from March to April 1930. This march was supported by a thousand Indians, as Gandhi and his followers were to oppose the policy of the British government to produce salt from the water of the Sea. Throughout this march, Gandhi approached a huge crowd as a result of which a growing number of people connected with the March.
