The salt satyagraha started from the sabarmati ashram in Gujarat. Gandhi along with his 78 followers travelled 240 miles towards the coast. They covered 10 miles every day for 24 days. When they reached the coast, they broke the salt law by manufacturing salt by boiling sea water.

the salt satygrah was a march started by Mahatma Gandhiji when lord Irwin declined the conditions set by Mahatma Gandhi as salt was used by both the rich and poor equally so from Sabarmati with 78 of his trusted followers he started the march on March 1931 they walked 240 miles in 24 days and on reaching Dandi he illegally manufactured thus breaking the salt law and this also marked the begging of (CDM)Civil disobedience movement
