Introducation:- ' The Light of Asia' is a very well known
epic of Sir Edwin Arnold. In it he has decribed the immortal
and great deeds of Prince Siddhartha viz Mahatma Buddha.
During his first visit Prince saw an old man. Having seen the miserable
condition of old man the Prince was moved to pity.
The whole night he was sleepless and uncomforted.
That night the king saw a dream in which he was
seven horrible visions. They were belongs to Prince
Siddhartha.

The seven visions are:-

1)The Flag:- First of all the king saw a flag it was
broad and spendid. A golden sun which was the mark
of Indra was shining on it. All of a sudden a strong
wind came, The flag was torn and hurled into dust.
Then it was taken up by a group of shadowy persons.
They went Towards East.

2)Ten Elephants:- In the second vision the king saw the elephants with white
or silver tusk. On the foremost elephant was the Princ. They were
marching on the southern road.

3) A Chariot :- Then he saw a chariot with dazzling light drawn
by for fearful horses. They were throwing white smoke from there
nostrils and fiery foam was coming out of thier mouths. The Prince
was sitting on that chariot which was moving very fast.

A Wheel :- In the fourth vision he saw a wheel.Its central part was
made of gold.It was moving very fast with sweet sound. This wheel
is shone like fire.

A Drum :- In the fifth vision king saw a mighty drum. It was placed
between beating it with an iron - rod. Its sound was like
thunder - storm. It filled the whole sky with its magnificient sound.

A tower :- In the six vision there was a tall tower. It was touching
the clouds. The prince stood in its top. He was scattering jewels
and bright gems with both hands in every direction. The whole
world came together them when they fell on the ground.

Six Men :- In the seventh or last vision the king heard a noise of wailing
and behold six men. They were grinding their teeth also.
They closed their mouths with their hands. They were walking
and appearing to be very sad.

Conclusion:- These were seven horrible visions of the dream which
disturbed the king very much. He got restless and could not
find peace till a hermit satisfied him with answers....!!!
