In Robert Frost's poem "The Road Not Taken" the roads which are mentioned are a metaphor for life. More specifically, the paths are symbols for the decisions we have to make in life. The physical difference between thesetwo roads are that one was grassy andless traveled, whereas the other was more worn by passers by.
