In 1980, Poland was going through a massive political crisis.Poland was under the rule of Polish United Workers' Party. It was a Communist Party. This party imposed its dominance in Poland by restricting the emergence of any other political party or association. The Polish people were forced to vote for this party only. They were denied to speak freely against their leader and if they tried to do so,they were imprisoned. The employment conditions were also pathetic. The workers were not allowed to form any trade associations for promoting their demands.
