19th century was the period of Victorian era. During that time, women education was not given much education.
Women were expected to learn music, singing, dancing, embroidery, cooking etc.
To satisfy their household needs and to keep their husband and children happy.
Even if some girls wanted education, they were given home tuitions.
Girls from only upper classes had the privilege to attend formal elementary schools.
