Traditional roles. Women had no political rights in pre-Revolutionary France; they could not vote or hold any political office. They were considered "passive" citizens; forced to rely onmen to determine what was best forthem in the government.

after revolution women were given many rights like study compulsory for them, they can marry on their own choice etc. but the political interference was not allowed for women. like right to vote. later they were oblige with this right also
