The man narrating the story said that when he was a young boy he used to go to school without shoes; on the way was a temple where his father was a priest. The boy would go to the temple and pray for shoes.  

Thirty years later he visited the same temple. There was a new priest and his boy wore shoes and socks. He felt the prayers he had made thirty years ago had been answered as after thirty years the boys had shoes to wear. However, still there were many poor children who could not afford shoes.
