Subsitence crisis in France. 2. INTRODUCTIONA subsistence crisis is a crisiscaused by economic factors (generally high food prices), which in turn may be caused by either natural or man-made factors, which threatens the food supplies and the survival prospects of large numbers of people .

The condition of France at that time was not so to fulfil the needs of the growing population results to the increase in gap between poor and rich.
