The French society was divided into 3 classes
1st- clergy
2nd - nobility
3rd - pesants, shopkeepers, business man,landless labours....
The members of the first estates that are clergy and nobility enjoyed certain previleges based on birth.The nobles further enjoyed feudal previleges.
