World students’ day is celebrated across India and the world to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam. This day is observed in school, colleges, and educational institutes. Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam was a great scientist and a very humble yet inspiring person.

To honor his work as a scientist in the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), In 1981, Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam was awarded the Padma Bhushan and in 1990, the Padma Vibhushan. Later he was awarded the Bharat Ratna Award which is the highest civilian award of India.

It is very important to set an example for the students for what can dreaming big and hard work can do. It is necessary for the people to understand the work and efforts of Dr. Abdul Kalam. Hence it is important to celebrate the world students day to remember a man who spent his life for the betterment of the nation, society, and students.

The history and origin of world students day go back to 2010. To honor Dr. Abdul Kalam for his contribution in promoting the importance of education and encouraging millions of students through his speeches and lectures United Nations decided to declare the birthday of Dr. Abdul Kalam(15 October) as the World Students’ Day.

And since then 15th October is celebrated as World Students’ Day in India and the world. This day is mostly observed in schools and colleges in India. On this day, various activities like essay writing, speech competitions, quizzes, debates, science fairs, and exhibitions are organized in the schools and colleges.
