The Vicar told verger in vestry to read write for three months due to his illiteracy.

Explanation:

At St. Peter's Neville Square, Albert has been the verger for sixteen years. He is so keen about his sincerity and dedication in his work. He was not educated but performed his works efficiently.

The new vicar appointed to the church appreciated vicar’s efforts but also complained about his illiteracy. The vicar said that Albert would get three months to learn. So he decided to resign the job since he was not ready to learn.
