What was the writer of the story busy with when mini called out to the cabuliwallah the first time

The writer was busy writing the seventeenth chapter of his novel in his study room when Mini called out the Cabuliwallah for the first time. When the peddler ( the cabuliwallah)came to his door, the author had to buy some dry fruits from him, leaving his story incomplete.
