according to this treaty germany had to accept war guilt or acknowledge responsibility for causing world war 1 and they had to pay a huge war idemnity of 33 billion dollars . during the war germany  destroyed coal mines of france therefore france was given permission to use rich coal mines of germany .the strength of german army was reduced to one lakh soldiers including four thousand officers and was not allowed to use heavy artillery ,tanks and poisonous gases.
