Tricki was a dog who was loved very much by everyone .His mistress Mrs Pumphery was a rich woman wo loved to live a comfertable life and also wanted her dog to speand the same one .

She used to overfeed him out of her love and concern . She never realised that tricki was a greedy dog and this could and even did spoil his health. This made the dog lazy and inactive and obese .

Dr Herriot was a capable wise and compassionate doctor who advised mrs pumphery to put tricki on a strict diet. After realising that there was no improvement in his health he took him to his surgery and adopted a practical approach to treat him . he was successful in making him well.
