What was wrong in Mrs Pearson family?

One of the main issue that the story "Mother's Day" raises is the position of a housewife in a family. The story tells that the lady in the house never gets respect and recognition in the house. The family members tend to take her for granted. She works continuously like an unpaid servant without complaining. Also one of the issues is that the lady of the house should be strict and should assert her position and value in the house. She should be always ready to give her suggestions, orders, and instructions related t the issues of the household or about any of the family member.
Mrs. Pearson faced the problem which millions of mothers have been facing for being house-makers. There was a lack of respect and consideration by the family members which made Mrs. Pearson very sad. She was not treated as a member of the family but like a servant or an attendant by her husband and her children. Everyone enjoyed their lives but only she was left alone looking after the house.
