(i) If Route choosen is A to B

= Distance covered = 7½km

(ii) If Route choosen is A to B to C then,

= Distance covered = 21/4 + 11/3km

= 107/12km

= 66.7km

Thus Route A to C is shorter.

Depreciation = | (A to C) - (A to B to C) |

= | 7.5 km - 66.7 km|

= |-59.2 km|

= 59.2 km
