AC2 = AB2 + BC2
(10)2 = (6)2 + BC2
100+36=BC2
BC2=100-36

First,we want to use the pythagoras formula, then in the place of c put 10(hypotenuse=ladder),b=6(base distance of ladder from wall=6). After this, transpose b to rhs, subtract and you will get the ans.....
