Dust bowls were a result of excessive soil erosion by the machines and the breaking of the soil in the great plains of North Dakota. In 1930,the dust storms started to blow over southern plains.
It led to the death of cattles and the sand from the sandstorms buried fences, covered fields, and coated the rivers till the fish died.
